Don't get Stuck! Super Simple Way to Mind Map

Are You Ready to Explore a Creative Way to Use Your Journal?

Mind mapping! Mind what? Are you ready for some variety in your journaling? Then try a mind mapping exercise! I’ll walk you through the process. It can be enjoyable and at the end you can synthesize some amazing discoveries. Or like me just get the writing juices going. When my motivation tanks and know my mind needs to journal I draw out some simple mind maps.

It can help get you unstuck!

The Process

1. Since this a visual exercise write a central idea in the center of the page.
2. Write 4 or 5 topics around the central idea. (Or use “Who, what, when, where”)
3. Draw lines / arrows to each topic
4. Write a few ideas around each topic.
5. Draw lines / arrows to each.

Keep going until you have 3 or more levels deep on each topic and idea.

Pro Tip: Write words before you draw (you never know how much you need to write)

I give you permission to be as messy as you want. The map is for you, not for Pinterest. 🤣

Here is an example I did recently when I couldn’t get my productivity kickstarted.

You have permission to be messy! Enjoy it!

If you want to get really creative.

Here are some AMAZING mind maps I found on Pinterest (not my style though).

Would you give a try a few times and let me know how it goes? Trying something like this once is not enough. If it’s not for you, then at least you know after you tried it a few times. 👍
