Journaling Skills development!
Skill of journaling you ask. Isn’t it just writing stuff down? That would be like talking to a golfer and saying isn’t it just swinging a club at a golf ball? Or saying to a musician isn’t playing piano just pressing keys on a keyboard? Or better yet asking a long-distance runner if running a marathon is just putting some shoes on and running for 26 miles. Try it! You’ll see that all these things including journaling is a skill to be developed.
Low Risk / High Reward
Fortunately journaling poorly is not like scuba diving poorly. Or packing parachutes for skydiving poorly. Doing these things poorly can be painful if not deadly. Journaling poorly can be frustrating. Kind of like trying to paint trim and getting the paint on the ceiling. If you’ve felt this frustration you are not alone! There are thousands of others like you that wish they could sit down and get something off their chests by writing.
The rewards of journaling are huge! Probably the top of the list is a stronger faster better mind. Research has shown that journaling about negative experiences improves your working memory! Amazing indeed! Since everyone needs a little coaching from time to time. I’d like to invite you to get the most out of your Pen and Journal. If you want to improve your journaling skills and would like a little accountability you’ve found the right place!
Don’t go it alone
Leaders and life coaches alike sing the praises of getting help from others. I’ve journaled for years and feel passionate about the difference it makes in my life and the lives of people around me. With some encouragement and regular practice, you’ll have confidence in wrestling down career decisions relationship decisions and your personal goals. You don’t have to have a master’s degree in grammar and spelling to journal you are only writing to yourself! There is such freedom in writing to someone (yourself) that already knows what you mean!
Remember you only get out of it as much as you put into it. So, don’t wait start now. Grab a pen and journal (any paper can be called a journal) and write down that you are committed to journaling. Write down that the benefits of journaling are far too many to ignore and that you will consistently write what is on your mind. In this you will discovering what is in your heart. Lastly you are going to improve your journaling skills by doing it!
