Journaling Skills development!

Skill of journaling you ask. Isn’t it just writing stuff down? That would be like talking to a golfer and saying isn’t it just swinging a club at a golf ball? Or saying to a musician isn’t playing piano just pressing keys on a keyboard? Or better yet asking a long-distance runner if running a marathon is just putting some shoes on and running for 26 miles. Try it! You’ll see that all these things including journaling is a skill to be developed.

Low Risk / High Reward

Fortunately journaling poorly is not like scuba diving poorly. Or packing parachutes for skydiving poorly. Doing these things poorly can be painful if not deadly. Journaling poorly can be frustrating. Kind of like trying to paint trim and getting the paint on the ceiling. If you’ve felt this frustration you are not alone! The rewards of journaling are huge! Probably the top of the list is a stronger faster better mind. Research has shown that journaling about negative experiences improves your working memory!
